2014 Meetings & Activities

From the parking lot, enter the door with the red awning, turn left to go downstairs/elevator. Again go left out of the stairwell/elevator and we are in a classroom on the right.

2014 Meetings

Jan: Indoor Low Light Photography.

Feb: Macro/Close-Up Photography, Flowers - the flowers will also be the door prize.

Mar: Weather/Lightening Photography.

Apr: Spring Photo Walk - meet at the gazebo in George Pyle Park, 100 block E. Avenue B.

May: Flowers Photography - Adam Miller's property.

June: Night Sky Photography - Adam Miller's property. 8:00 p.m. meeting time.

July: Food Photography - everyone bring one item to share for photographing.

Aug: Wildlife Photo Walk - (DNC or Sand Hills Park - to be decided before Aug)

Sept: Posing & Portrait Photography at Carey Park - meet at the fountain

Oct: Outdoor Low Light Photography - Downtown

Nov: No meeting. Club work on exhibit (more info coming)

Dec: Christmas Party for members only

Special March Program

All are welcome! This is not just a photography club event.
Anyone who would like to hear Mark Bogner speak is welcome!

March 20, 2014 - 7:30 p.m.(March’s Third Thursday)Trinity United Methodist Church17th and Main, Hutchinson KS

Cost: Free Will Donations - (will go to the club fund, which is used for things such as: college scholarship to an HCC student interested in photography or graphic design, prize money for local & state photography contests, bringing in speakers for monthly club meetings and door prizes given away at meetings).

"Staying Safe While Observing and Photographing Kansas Weather"

Mark Bogner is a meteorologist who spent his entire professional career in Kansas. In newspaper, on radio and TV for over 23 years, Mark has seen his fair share of wild weather come and go. He has since started a second career as a Hearing Instrument Specialist for Beltone and is the meteorology instructor for Butler Community College. Mark is married to his wife of 20 years and they have 3 teenage children. He currently resides in Wichita.

After the presentation, Mark will have a book signing:A Year of Kansas Weather - A unique perspective on Kansas weather from along-time local meteorologist. Mark Bogner grew up on a farm in south central Kansas and spent over 23 years forecasting the weather for businesses and individuals through newspaper, radio and television. This book is a collection of thoughts gathered and organized by season in a state that is blessed with four very distinct seasons.
